A stroll to the waterfall

Malu, Wéllia, Alice, Valdenes, Eraldo, Joni Von, Kátia and the elderly Antônio Neto

One Saturday afternoon, after leaving her veterinary clinic, Malu invited her cousin Anna Paula to go with her to the Sol Nascente Waterfall, located on the eastern outskirts of the city.

Due to the intense heat, the waterfall was quite crowded. Among those present was Wéllia, Malu's twin sister, who was there with her daughter Alice and her aunt Valquíria, who was dressed as a bride.

Alice said:

- Look, it's Aunt Malu!

- I see that silly girl swimming in the water dressed like a hippie. She's crazy. And then there's that other crazy bald Anna Paula.

Malu swam over to Wéllia and greeted her, Alice, and Valquíria.

But they weren't alone. Antônio Neto, an elderly former soldier, arrived with his grandchildren Suziana, Kátia, Katariny, Valdenes, and Vitória. The latter two entered the water fully clothed. Valdenes, who was dressed in formal attire, put on his shoes and entered the water.

Antônio Neto noticed something strange:

- Kátia, Valdenes is always barefoot everywhere, but he wears shoes in the water?

- Yes, Grandpa, he's quite strange. I have a cousin who's also very strange.

- Well, I think it's cool!" said Katariny. "I like his different way!

Eraldo, his sister Luana, his wife Judilane, and his sister-in-law Jaíne were also there. Eraldo saw Valdenes and went to greet his friend.

Fabíola, the vintage one, another sister of Eraldo, was there with Tiago, her boyfriend. The two were arguing because Fabíola said it was 1956, while Tiago insisted it was 2096.

Fabíola saw Valdenes from afar and said:

At one point, Valdenes saw Malu and approached her, greeting her. Valdenes said:

Shortly after, Marcella, who sells food on the streets, her neighbor Clíntia, who is Eraldo's secretary, and the two sisters Janielle and Janicleide arrived, also to have fun in the water. Joni von also appeared and started trying to scam Eraldo and Valdenes, even challenging them to a race in the waterfall. Joni Von said:

- Let's race in the water, I know I'll win, because Eraldo swims very badly and Valdenes is wearing formal attire and shoes, therefore, I'm lighter.

Eraldo, Valdenes, and Joni Von were racing, and Joni Von won the bets. A few minutes later, Ana Karina and Branquinha arrived and joined Eraldo, Luana, and Valdenes. At one point, Branquinha said:

- Café com Cultura is packed here!!!!

Luana, at one point, asked Valdenes:

- Excuse the question, friend, why do you walk around barefoot, but wear shoes in the water?

- Because in the water, I can't see where I'm stepping, on land, I can. If I were in the sea right now, and a crab bit me, I wouldn't feel it. But shoes for me are only for that, I really like to always be barefoot.

But shortly after, they heard a fight. It was Fabíola and Wiviane. The vintage girl and the singer were pulling each other's hair, one trying to push the other underwater. Marcella swam to them and managed to separate the two.

Ana Karina said:

- Fabíola and Wiviane really hate each other, and I don't think even they know why they hate each other so much.

- Look, Tiago pulled Fabíola home - said Branquinha.

- Fabíola is my sister, but she's weird, I don't get involved in that - said Eraldo.

At that moment, Janielle was surprised when she saw her sister Janicleide wetting a 2 real note in the water. Joni Von asked:

- Janicleide, why are you washing that note in the water?

Janicleide replied:

- Well, I'm laundering money!

Valquíria, who was dressed as a bride, at one point swam to Valdenes and said:

- Do you want to marry me?

- Huh???? - asked Valdenes, surprised.

Alice went to Valquíria and said:

- Don't be surprised, Mr. Valdenes. She has a habit of asking men if they want to marry her. She said she'll only take off that wedding dress when she finds a man to marry.

- Wow!

The afternoon at the waterfall was a lot of fun. Malu, Wéllia, Alice, Valdenes, Eraldo, Joni Von, Kátia, and the elderly Antônio Neto even took a picture together. Wéllia didn't want to take a picture with them, but Alice convinced her.

They only left the waterfall when the sun began to set. Valdenes got out of the water, took off his shoes, and returned to his normal barefoot style. He and his sister Vitória went home, followed by some other people.

Antônio Neto said, as he was going home with his granddaughter Suziana:

- This is the most democratic waterfall in the world; whoever wants to go in wearing a swimsuit can go in, whoever wants to go in with clothes on can go in.
