Competitors, adversaries, and enemies

Currently, in Lagoa da Italianinha, Quitéria and Marlene are rivals, both having snack bars in different parts of the city: Quitéria has a snack bar in Pátio Verona, and Marlene, at the city's bus station.

The feud between the two took on even more dramatic dimensions because of Santa, who worked at Marlene's snack bar and went to Quitéria's. Both tend to cut ties with employees who leave their circle to work for their rival. Marlene, for example, no longer speaks to Santa after this change.

A few years ago, Quitéria, granddaughter of the Italian Alycia, took in Marlene, who at the time was living on the streets of the city, at her establishment. The year was 2008.

Marlene grew in her job, but discovered her talent for being a country music singer, which made her grow. Years later, after leaving Quitéria's snack bar, she opened her own snack bar.

One accuses the other of something: Quitéria says that Marlene was blinded by ambition and knows no limits. She even cites the case of Marlene's twin sister, Marly, who still lives on the streets to this day. Marlene, in turn, accuses Quitéria of being an "exploitative" boss. In Lagoa da Italianinha, the talk is that what was supposed to be just a business rivalry has turned into enmity.
