For an entire Sunday, the beggar Rita de Cássia was not seen on the streets of Lagoa da Italianinha. All because she decided to play in the river that runs through the city.
Many there laughed at her, because she was in a river, and with her inseparable pacifier, since she, even at 43 years old, has the mind of a five-year-old girl. But her doll Dalila was not with her; she had left it with the beggar Cida in the barrel where Cida lives.
She spent hours and hours swimming in the river, until some policemen passed by and ordered her to get out. Rita said:
- Let me just play a little...
- No way, it's dangerous.
Rita de Cássia got out of the river, complaining. Before getting out of the water, she fell in again and took a quick dive to get out completely. After getting out of the river, she went to get her doll from Cida's barrel and went to the bus station, where she stayed until nightfall.
