In 1946, Frannie, an Italian woman, arrived in Lagoa da Italianinha when it was still called the Maniçoba farm. The daughter of the Italian teacher Francesco, she ventured into the heart of Pernambuco's interior at that time.
Frannie was known at the time for being a woman ahead of her time. She had been married before, but had been betrayed. She used to wear masculine clothing, whereas at that time women usually wore dresses or trousers. Frannie already wore shirts with suspenders, trousers, and shoes.
Furthermore, Frannie loved to bathe fully clothed. She wouldn't even take off her shoes to enter the river or lake. In the locality where she lived, another woman already did this: Jennifer, the daughter of Colonel Jefferson. Because of this, years later the town ended up having a segment of its population that adopted the habit of bathing fully clothed.
Frannie married, but not a rich man. She preferred Jadiel, a simple farmer from a very poor family.
