At the Lagoa da Italianinha Municipal Public Library, siblings Eraldo and Luana, Valdenes, Ana Karina, and Branquinha welcomed Cássia, who joined them as part of the "Café com Cultura" group.
The idea came from Ana Karina and was accepted by all members. Valdenes and Branquinha personally went to Cássia's house to extend the invitation. Lúcia, Cássia's sister, said:
"I'm so happy, this will distract her."
Valdenes said:
"Cássia is very intelligent and can contribute to our work."
Cássia said:
"I'm happy because finally someone remembered me... just because of my mental health issues, I was sidelined so much..."
"But you have a lot to help us with," said Branquinha.
Cássia went to her first meeting with Valdenes and Branquinha and was welcomed by Eraldo, Luana, and Ana Karina. Luana said:
"Welcome, Cássia."
"Thank you, even though I'm a bit... crazy."
"What nonsense, you have enormous potential," said Eraldo.
Ana Karina said:
"Well, now there are six of us, and I hope that number increases."
"Cássia, tell me about yourself," said Eraldo.
Cássia said:
"I'm a happy woman, despite my craziness... I love getting wet in the rain, in the river, in the waterfall, on the beach, in the pool, I also like getting covered in mud, sleeping on the ground, and having street friends."
"You are a pure-hearted person. We've already noticed that," said Luana.
"Thank you very much."
The meeting went on until late at night, and Branquinha gave Cássia a ride home. Cássia was finally part of a social group again after 24 years.
